Paloma Mami

Biography
Born in Manhattan and raised between the vibrant streets of New York and Santiago, Chile, Paloma Mami (Paloma Rocío Castillo Astorga) has emerged as a definitive voice in the global music scene. Her sound is a sophisticated fusion of R&B, reggaeton, and trap, delivered with a bilingual “Spanglish” flow that reflects her unique bicultural upbringing. Since her debut, she has broken streaming records and shattered glass ceilings for Chilean artists on the international stage.
Paloma’s journey began in New York, where she was influenced by the soulful vocalists of jazz and R&B, such as Amy Winehouse and Ella Fitzgerald. At age 16, she moved to Santiago, a transition that allowed her to reconnect with her Chilean roots and experiment with Latin urban sounds. She adopted her stage name in high school—inspired by the Instagram handle of rapper Drake—and briefly appeared on the Chilean talent show Rojo before choosing to pursue her career as an independent artist.
Her breakthrough came in 2018 with the viral hit “Not Steady,” an independent release that caught the attention of major labels and led to her becoming the first Chilean artist to sign with Sony Music Latin. This was followed by a string of multi-platinum singles, including “No Te Enamores” and “Fingías,” which established her as a powerhouse in the Latin urban genre. In 2021, her debut album, Sueños de Dalí, made history as the first debut album by a female Latin artist to be certified Gold in the U.S., earning her a Best New Artist nomination at the Latin GRAMMY Awards.
In 2025, Paloma Mami entered a bold new chapter with the release of her sophomore album, CÓDiGOS DE MUÑEKA. The project showcases her artistic evolution, blending her signature R&B melodies with futuristic production and anime-inspired aesthetics. Under the new management of Double P (the team behind Peso Pluma), she has expanded her global footprint through high-profile collaborations with artists like Rauw Alejandro and DannyLux. From her 2025 North American tour to her appearances at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo, Paloma Mami continues to prove that she is not just a singer, but a cross-cultural icon for a new generation.
