Biography

Janney Marín Rivera, known professionally as Chiquis, is a multi-talented force in the entertainment industry as a three-time Latin Grammy-winning singer, New York Times bestselling author, and entrepreneur. As of 2025, she has firmly established herself as a leading figure in Regional Mexican music, making “herstory” as the first and only solo female artist to win the Latin Grammy for Best Banda Album three times—most recently for her 2024 album Diamantes, which also earned a 2025 Grammy nomination for Best Música Mexicana Album. Beyond her musical achievements, Chiquis has expanded her media presence with the 2025 premiere and second-season renewal of her travel and culinary series, Foodie on the Go, and her debut children’s book, The Girl Who Sings to Bees. Known for her resilience and transparency, she first rose to fame through family reality shows like I Love Jenni before chronicling her complex relationship with her late mother, the legendary Jenni Rivera, in her bestselling memoirs Forgiveness and Unstoppable. Today, she balances her role as a philanthropist through her BossBee Nation foundation with her personal life in Los Angeles, where she resides with her husband, photographer Emilio Sánchez.
