Biography

MKY (Mikey Jimenez) is a soulful Mexican-American R&B singer-songwriter from East Los Angeles who has become a leading face of the bilingual urban-soul movement. A descendant of Chicano music royalty—including his great-uncle “Little Ray” Jimenez and family ties to the legendary group Tierra—MKY first gained national attention as a standout on American Idol Season 23, where his “honey-smooth” vocals and a viral Spanish-language rendition of “Sabor a Mí” captivated global audiences. In late 2025, he reached a new professional milestone by signing with George Prajin’s Prajin Parlay Inc., joining a roster of global icons like Peso Pluma. Known for masterfully blending 90s-style R&B nostalgia with contemporary Chicano influences, his recent singles “Take Our Time” and “Lay It On Me” highlight a unique “polyglot” sound that bridges classic soul and modern Latin artistry. Entering 2026, MKY is widely regarded as a trailblazer for a new generation of bilingual artists, carrying his family’s deep musical legacy onto the world’s most prestigious stages.
